Description

Photogram paper, also known as photosensitive paper, is a type of light-sensitive material used in the creation of photograms. A photogram is a photographic image made without the use of a camera or traditional negative. Instead, objects are placed directly onto the photosensitive paper, and then the paper is exposed to light. The areas blocked by the objects remain unexposed and appear as shadows, while the rest of the paper darkens due to exposure.

Photogram paper typically contains light-sensitive chemicals, such as silver halide crystals, that react to light. When exposed to light, these chemicals undergo a chemical change, and the resulting image is fixed through a developing and fixing process.

Photograms offer a unique and creative way to produce images without the need for a camera, allowing for experimentation with shapes, textures, and arrangements of objects to create visually interesting and abstract compositions.
