Hydroelectric Power Station – Water Turbine Generator Demonstrator
Hydroelectric Power Station – Water Turbine Generator Demonstrator
SKU:42HEA
The Hydroelectric Power Station is a hands-on classroom model that demonstrates how moving water can be used to generate electricity. Water directed through the turbine causes it to rotate, driving a dynamo to produce electrical energy. Students can observe energy conversion in action using the built-in lamp and Newton's colour disc.
Mounted on a compact plastic base, the apparatus combines a water turbine, dynamo, lamp, LED, colour disc and selector switch. The switch allows students to select between the lamp and colour disc demonstrations. The unit also features 4mm output terminals for further investigations.
Key Features
- Demonstrates the conversion of water movement into electrical energy
- Water-driven turbine connected to a dynamo
- Built-in lamp and Newton's colour disc for visual demonstrations
- Selector switch for lamp or colour disc operation
- LED and 4mm output terminals for electrical investigations
- Includes instructions
Specifications
- Apparatus type: Hydroelectric power station demonstration model
- Base: Plastic
- Components: Water turbine, dynamo, Newton's colour disc, lamp, LED and selector switch
- Electrical connections: 4mm output terminals
Educational Applications
Suitable for science lessons exploring renewable energy, hydroelectricity, turbines, generators and energy transformation. Students can investigate how flowing water produces mechanical motion and how a generator converts that motion into electrical output.
Operation
Use an appropriate water supply to drive the turbine and select the required demonstration using the switch. Follow the supplied instructions when connecting external equipment to the output terminals.
